GCC Switchup

Made for the 2023 GMTK Game Jam ("Roles Reversed")

You are a convict. In the year 15,023, criminals are not punished through prisons and rehabilitation. Instead, they are forced to battle to the death in a game of wits and physical abilities in the GCC (Galactic Criminal Cup). In this gladiatorial encounter, the two lawbreakers are pitted against one another in a simple contest. The first convict to reach the Oglyx crystal at the centre of the maze wins freedom and another chance at life. The loser is banished to the furthest region of the galaxy, the carcerem cluster, a living hell in which survival is less preferable than any other alternative.

A simple strategy game, drawing from the likes of chess and checkers, in which you challenge an algorithm to a game of intelligence and prediction.  But can you keep track of your reversing control of the characters and their roles and be the first to freedom? There can only be one winner.
